Community Programs

If kids have enjoyed the sport and are looking for additional beginner "try & play" opportunities, Tennis BC has other activities that follow the pathway.

They include:

Groovy Girlz: For girls age 7-10 years This program builds self-esteem, teamwork, sportsmanship, while teaching valuable hand-eye coordination.  Click here for more information.  Head Rackets provide free t-shirts.

Urban Youth Tennis Academy: Free camps financially challenged youth that would not otherwise have access to learn tennis.  Camps run at the Britiannia Community Center Tennis Courts.  Head Rackets provide camp t-shirts.  Call 604-718-5800 for more information.

Tennis BC EZ Play Clinics: Tennis camps aimed at beginners.  Theses sessions include a new racquet in the cost.  Please click here for more information.

Progressive Tennis Events: 1/2 court for ages 5-7 years & 3/4 court for ages 7-9 years.  Round robin based events that are entry level competition.  Players have multiple matches that are timed based.  These events also use modified balls.  Many of the these events are attached to the Rix Rookie Tour dates.  Please contact Tennis BC at 604-737-3086 or rookietour@tennisbc.org for more information.   You can also click here for the Rix Rookie Tour province wide schedule.

Rix Rookie Tour: Full-court events for ages 8-15 years. Round robin based events that are for entry level competition. Players have multiple matches that are timed based. These events also use the E-Z play ball that has less air pressure than regular balls so players can have longer rallies.  Click here for Rix Rookie Tour province wide schedule
